Kristen Doute, the Bravo TV personality known for her role on The Valley, has confirmed that several of her co-stars will not be receiving an invitation to her upcoming wedding to Luke Broderick. In an interview with Us Weekly in April 2025, Doute, who is expecting her first child in June, revealed that the guest list would exclude certain cast members from the show.
“There are definitely people who are not on my baby shower or my birthday invite list, so they’re definitely not on the wedding list,” Doute, 42, teased during the interview. She went on to add that viewers of The Valley season 2 would be able to figure out the identity of the uninvited guests quickly. “I think if you watch season 2, you’ll be able to figure out promptly who that would be.”
Doute offered further clues in a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, stating that it wasn’t just wedding invitations on the line but also baby shower and birthday invites. She cryptically added, “I think after you watch part of the season, you’ll figure it out very quickly [who won’t get invited]. It’s people who—I’ll say they start with a ‘J.’”
This remark has led fans to speculate about which cast members with names starting with “J” may be excluded from the celebration. Potential candidates include Jax Taylor, Janet Caperna, Jason Caperna, Jasmine Goode, and Jesse Lally.
Hints at Exclusions
Doute’s comments about the cast members with names starting with “J” offer some strong clues. Fans of the show may quickly deduce that Jax Taylor is a likely candidate, given Doute’s public support for his estranged ex, Brittany Cartwright, during their breakup, as well as her previous criticisms of Taylor’s behavior. Additionally, Doute’s comments during the The Valley season 2 premiere about Janet Caperna being “dead to me” after a feud in season 1 further suggest that Janet may not make the guest list.
However, there is some indication that Doute is on better terms with other cast members. In the same season 2 episode, Doute praised Jesse Lally for his personal growth following his divorce from Michelle, saying, “I think everyone should take a page out of Jesse’s book. He has humbled himself. He has worked on himself.” This comment implies that Jesse could be among the few co-stars Doute would consider inviting.
A Focus on Family and Close Friends
Doute has made it clear that she will not be diving into wedding planning until after her baby is born. When speaking to Us Weekly, she admitted that wedding planning was “non-existent” for the time being. Instead, her focus is firmly on preparing for the arrival of her child. However, Doute did mention that the couple is likely to have a destination wedding due to the varied locations of their family members.
Broderick, who is clearly on the same page with Doute, also spoke about the wedding plans, explaining that the guest list would be reserved for family and close friends. “Like the tightest people to us outside of our blood,” he said, emphasizing that only those with whom they have the strongest bonds would be invited.
With her focus currently on her pregnancy, Doute has made it clear that the wedding will not be a major priority until later, but it seems that once the planning begins, it will be an intimate affair with a select guest list.
