Jeff Bezos, the world’s second-richest individual with a net worth of $217 billion, is preparing to marry Lauren Sanchez in an extravagant three-day event in Venice, Italy, set for June 24 to 26, 2025. The event will be hosted aboard Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Koru, which will be anchored in the Venetian lagoon.
The wedding will be attended by around 200 guests and will span multiple luxurious venues across Venice. One of the standout locations booked for the event is the San Clemente Palace, a high-end hotel owned by Turkish businessman Emir Uyar. Bezos has reserved the entire hotel for the period from June 26 to 29, with nightly room rates at the hotel starting at $3,200.
In addition to the San Clemente Palace, the wedding will also involve other prestigious hotels, such as Gritti Palace and Aman Venice. Nearly all of Venice’s private water taxis have been reserved to accommodate the wedding party’s transportation needs. Despite the scale of the event, local officials have confirmed that the ceremony will be held away from the historic city center, in the lagoon area, ensuring that daily life in Venice remains unaffected.
Bezos’ superyacht, although well below the 25,000-ton limit for entering the Venetian lagoon, will not be permitted to approach the Grand Canal due to local regulations. The couple is also said to be planning a legal ceremony before the official celebration in Venice.
Celebrity Guests and High-Profile Attendees
The guest list for the wedding includes a number of well-known celebrities, including Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, and Katy Perry, among others.
This high-profile wedding follows Bezos’ proposal in 2023, where he presented Sanchez with a 30-carat diamond ring. The engagement was followed by a lavish party aboard the Koru off the Amalfi Coast, attended by the likes of Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, Queen Rania of Jordan, and others.
Additionally, Sanchez, a journalist and pilot, is scheduled to lead a Blue Origin space mission on March 31, 2025, alongside five other women, including Katy Perry.
Turkish Influence on the Celebration
The involvement of the San Clemente Palace adds a notable Turkish connection to the high-profile wedding. With such a significant international presence and star-studded guest list, the event promises to be one of the most talked-about weddings of the year, bringing together a fusion of luxury, celebrity, and international influence.
As preparations continue, the city’s hotels and transport services are already feeling the effects of the massive celebration, highlighting the global attention the event has garnered.
