In order to promote the new style of civilized marriage in the new era and advocate changing customs, the fourth collective wedding of Suzhou City and Dangshan County, “Reunion New Journey·Love in Lidu”, was held on the morning of the same day. Witnessed by relatives, friends and on-site spectators and tourists, the 18 couples solemnly made a vow to accompany each other for life, practiced the new style of civilization with practical actions, and advocated simple and moderate wedding customs and etiquette.
The passionate and cheerful suona playing “Joyful Li Township” kicked off the collective wedding. Accompanied by festive music, 18 couples dressed in exquisite Chinese dresses walked slowly onto the red carpet under the blessing eyes of relatives, friends and many tourists. At the wedding scene, after the master of ceremonies, the groom entered the ceremony, the bride held a fan, the couple bowed to each other, drank together, swore in unison, and scattered wedding candies, the 18 couples successfully completed the ceremony and tied the knot.
“In this blooming season, we feel very honored to hold a wedding with so many couples. We hope that through our wedding, we can convey civilized, healthy and positive marriage concepts.” New couples Yue Taohan and An Miaofang said happily.
This collective wedding was co-organized by the Suzhou Youth League Committee and the Dangshan County Government. The 18 couples who participated in the event came from all walks of life in Dangshan County, including employees of enterprises on the production line, people’s police who protect peace, people’s teachers who teach and educate people, and young cadres rooted in the grassroots. They are all builders of a better life and dreamers of the new era. They used practical actions to resist high-priced betrothal gifts and extravagant weddings, leading the trend of the times to hold new and simple weddings, and showing the spirit and responsibility of the young people in the new era.
“I think this form of collective wedding is particularly good. It is simple and grand, and full of a strong traditional cultural atmosphere. It is much more meaningful than those extravagant weddings.” Dai Fengling, a resident of Liangli Town who watched the wedding on the spot, said.
Wang Jing, secretary of the Communist Youth League Dangshan County Committee, hopes that under the leadership of these newcomers, more and more young people will consciously choose simple, moderate, civilized and healthy wedding methods to jointly create a more harmonious and beautiful social environment.
