Bhubaneswar: Former Nabarangpur MP and BJD leader Pradeep Majhi is set to marry today in Goa. The Sangeet ceremony was completed earlier, and after the ‘Haldi’ rituals, he will tie the knot following traditional Hindu customs, with close family members and relatives in attendance.
Reports indicate that the wedding will take place at a resort in Goa. Pradeep will marry Sushree Sangeeta Sahu, a native of Palasuni, Bhubaneswar, who has a background in journalism and mass communication from Utkal University in the capital city. She has since worked in several media organizations.
Interestingly, Pradeep’s wedding comes just a day after actor and former MP Anubhav Mohanty remarried Jagrati Shukla. Both Pradeep Majhi and Anubhav Mohanty’s wives are journalists, highlighting a common thread between their personal lives.
Pradeep Majhi had joined the BJD ahead of the 2024 elections and contested the Nabarangpur seat but was defeated by BJP candidate Balabhadra Majhi.
In recent weeks, there has been significant media attention on the weddings of politicians. Mahanga MLA Sarada Pradhan also got married recently, and BJD leader Manmath Routray, son of senior Congress leader Sura Routray, remarried for the second time.
